Officer Mark E. Vahlkamp is a 28-year veteran of the Baltimore County Police Department. He initially began his career in Central Traffic and transferred to Fullerton and Parkville Precincts to gain District experience. He returned to the Traffic Division in 1987 and achieved status as a Crash Reconstructionist in the Traffic Homicide Unit, working that assignment for over 8 years. He has been assigned to the Academy Precinct for the past 11 years as co-creator of the Traffic Training Team. He is a NHTSA/MPCTC-certified Instructor in RADAR, VASCAR, LIDAR, SFST/PBT, Speed Chronograph, Crash Investigation and is a certified Drug Recognition Expert and DRE Instructor.
