I got a ticket. Now what?
Handling your violation.
A ticket issued through Baltimore County’s automated traffic enforcement program is the similar to a parking violation issued by the county. You may pay the fine, which is an admission of guilt, or you may request a hearing. If you were not driving the vehicle at the time of the violation and are the registered owner, you must provide the court with a sworn statement and any corroborating evidence. Directions are included on the back of each ticket mailed.
If you request a hearing, it will be conducted by an impartial adjudicator. At the hearing, you will be presented with photographs of the violation. Motorists have the opportunity to present any information that challenges or mitigates the violation. After reviewing the evidentiary package and the motorist’s information, the adjudicator will render a decision.
Failure to respond to the ticket can result in additional fees and penalties.
