Maryland Transportation Article

Title 11-154.1.

"Scooter" means a two-wheeled vehicle that:

  1. Has handlebars and
  2. Is designed to be stood on by the operator.

Title 21-1207.2

  • The law requires a person under the age of 16 to wear an approved helmet in order to ride a scooter or in-line skates on a highway, sidewalk, or other property in Baltimore County.
  • It should be noted that motorized scooters are prohibited by the Baltimore County Code, Section 21-4, from being operated on any highway, sidewalk or other property used by the public in Baltimore County.
