Welcome to the Police Department

Precinct 08 Citizens On Patrol (C.O.P.)

Citizens on Patrol, or C.O.P. are organized groups of citizens who volunteer their time to patrol their own neighborhoods. They act as the "eyes and ears" for their local police officers. The Citizens on Patrol program is a very effective crime prevention tool for all communities. The presence of a C.O.P. acts as a deterrent to crime and thus can enhance the quality of life in the community.

Currently there are ten Citizens on Patrol groups operating within the Parkville Precinct area:

  • Seven Courts Citizens on Patrol
  • Alda Drive Citizens on Patrol
  • Villa Cresta Citizens on Patrol
  • Ridgely's Choice Citizens on Patrol
  • Harford Park Citizens on Patrol
  • Double Rock Citizens on Patrol
  • Perring Park Citizens on Patrol
  • Woodcroft Citizens on Patrol
  • Cromwood Community Citizens on Patrol
  • Wolsingham Citizens on Patrol

If you live in one of the above communities, consider getting involved in your local Citizens on Patrol. If your community doesn’t have a Citizens on Patrol, consider starting one today. Any community or neighborhood can organize a patrol and you can do it with as few as two members.

For more information on joining your local Citizens on Patrol or forming one in your community, visit the Citizens on Patrol web site and contact the Precinct Eight Community Outreach Team at 410-887-5439.  Participation in crime prevention programs with the police department creates a safer and more secure community. Get involved today !
