- Develop and execute strategies that promote crime prevention.
- Promote and maintain police/community cooperation and communication.
- Support the community problem solving efforts of Patrol Units, Investigative Service Teams (IST) and Community Drug and Violence Interdiction Teams (CDVIT).
- Work with local youth through such programs as the Police Athletic League and Explorers.
- Assist in the investigations of bias incidents.
- Guide and assist local Citizens on Patrol groups.
