Youth Programs
Available at Precinct 2

"It takes a Whole Village to raise a Child"

And our Police Department is a strong part of the Village. The PCR strongly supports the youth related programs that Precinct 2 has in place for the future of our Village. You too can be an active part of our Village. Get involved in these programs. For more info. Contact the Community Outreach Unit. T/P 410-887-4714.

J.O.I.N.S. - (Juvenile Offenders In Need of Supervision) is a program for 1st Time/Non-serious offenders. It allows them to receive a second chance in an out of court, non-formal mediation type environment. All parties (Police, Victim, Offender, and Parent) must agree to entry in the program. Children are given counseling, community service, supervision, and are involved in other programs. Call your JOINS officer at 410-887-6802. For more information about the JOINS program access the main JOINS page here.

Explorers - Although sponsored through the Boy Scouts of America, this program is co-educational. For youths who possibly have a future interest in Law Enforcement or related fields this is an excellent program. It's semi-military; uniforms are required. It promotes teamwork and all badges earned are related to law enforcement and crime prevention. The Explorers eventually ride-a-long with officers and perform non-threatening police details, such as parking at public events, etc. Call 410-887-4714. For more information about the Explorer program, access the main Explorer page here.
