Welcome to the Police Department

Baltimore County Police

Wilkens Explorer Post 9901

Explorrer Badge

The Baltimore County Police Explorer Program is set up as an introduction to all phases of law enforcement. It is sponsored by the Baltimore County Police and chartered annually through the Exploring Division of the Boy Scouts of America.

Through the Police Department Explorer Post, young people between ages 14 and 21 learn the role of law enforcement in the community. Explorers learn police-oriented skills and share other activities. Through their training they are able to provide services to the Department, such as searches, traffic details, security for public events and other non-enforcement type activities.

Explorer Post members are expected to attend all regular scheduled meetings-twice a month and are required to participate in the numerous details performed by the post. Participation is also encouraged for all Post activities including field trips, camping trips, dances, multi-post multi regional training seminars, and the ride-along program.

For more information contact Wilkens Post Advisor Officer Charles J. Bury Jr. at (410) 744-1584
