Members are assigned at the discretion of the Precinct Commander, report directly to the unit supervisor and are responsible for: - Serving as a proactive resource in identifying, stabilizing, and resolving community fear and disorder using the problem-solving process.
- Developing and executing strategies that promote crime prevention.
- Creating community interaction that promotes and maintains police - community cooperation and communication.
- Supporting the community problem solving efforts of patrol personnel.
- Working with local youth through programs such as the Police Athletic League and Explorers.
- Assisting in the investigation of Racial, Religious, and Ethnic incidents.
