Wilkens Community Outreach Team

Members are assigned at the discretion of the Precinct Commander, report directly to the unit supervisor and are responsible for:

1. Serving as a proactive resource in identifying, stabilizing, and resolving community fear and disorder using the problem-solving process.
2. Developing and executing strategies that promote crime prevention.
3. Creating community interaction that promotes and maintains police - community cooperation and communication.
4. Supporting the community problem solving efforts of patrol personnel.
5. Working with local youth through programs such as the Police Athletic League and Explorers.
6. Assisting in the investigation of Racial, Religious, and Ethnic incidents.
