Family & Children Services (west side of county)
Offers crisis intervention, case management, legal advocacy, shelter, individual and group therapy for victims and their children, and intervention programs.

Family Crisis Center of Baltimore County (east side of county)
Provides safe shelter, transitional house, victims advocacy and support groups, court accompaniment, lawyer representation, individual and family psychotherapy, trauma group therapy and intervention programs.

Turnaround, Inc. (county and city)
Offers individual and group counseling for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault / abuse. Domestic violence services also include emergency and transitional housing for victims with their children and pets, legal services and referral, and abuser intervention programs.

House of Ruth
Provides legal advise and representation for domestic violence cases and also multi-cultural services.

Provides services to Jewish victims of domestic violence.

Family Violence Program at Northwest Hospital and Sinai Hospital. Provides crisis intervention, individual and group counseling for victims of domestic violence and their children. Training for healthcare providers on Domestic Violence Intervention.

Prepares for trial of criminal cases involving domestic violence.

Parole / Probation
Reports concerning the behavior of domestic violence offenders released to Parole / Probation supervision can be made to a victim advocate.

Temporary Protective Order Interim Order
Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Go to the District or Circuit Court, ask the Civil Clerk's desk for Petition of Protection (if in Circuit Court , see POARP below). After business hours, weekends, and holidays go to the Court Commissioner to get an Interim Order. The Commissioner will inform you of the date / location of your second hearing.

Remedies under this law can include

  • Order the Abuser to stay away
  • Remove the abuser from the home
  • Give temporary child custody                                           

Protection Order Advocacy and Representation Project (POARP)
Emergency walk-in legal clinic for victims of domestic violence is located in Circuit Court. (401 Bosley Avenue, Towson) Provides free Protective Order legal advice and representation.

Filing Criminal Charges
Go to the Commissioner's Office (401 Bosley Avenue, Towson) with your police report or police report number.

Victim Information Notification Everyday (VINE)
Notifies victims when offenders are released from incarceration as well as protective order services.
