Publications

The Office of Planning publications that may be useful for Baltimore County citizens include: 

Adopted Community Plans

Census 2000 newsletters summarize demographic information for Baltimore County including factors such as population, race, age and household income.

Census 2000 brochures portray general and socioeconomic characteristics of population by race and ethnicity in Baltimore County.

A Citizen's Guide to Planning and Zoning provides basic infomation about Baltimore County's zoning designations and processes.

The Comprehensive Manual of Development Policies provides guidelines to encourage developmental design excellence.

Eastern Baltimore County Pedestrian and Bicycle Access Plan, is a blueprint for constructing pedestrian and bicycle improvements for the fifth, sixth, and seventh council districts.

The Master Plan 2010 is a guide for the future development of Baltimore County.  It examines the policies and strategies that have guided past development of the County, and reassesses them in light of the present and projected conditions.

The Pikesville Commercial Revitalization Guidelines, adopted by the Baltimore County Council on March 20, 2006 as part of the Comprehensive Manual of Development Policies, are the product of a year long concentrated effort to build a unified architectural vision for revitalizing downtown Pikesville. The Design Review Panel and planning staff will use the guidelines in their review of facade improvements and infill development within the Pikesville Revitalization District.

Planning's Pages is the Office of Planning's newsletter providing information on current projects and events.  Subscribe to receive an e-mail notification when each new edition is available. 

Quarterly Subdivision Reports summarize approved plans and building permits for residential and non-residential development in Baltimore County. Interactive maps are maps that citizens can manipulate to zoom in on specific locations, and to find specific information about certain topics.  These maps include:

My Neighborhood: Eastern County Bicycle Plan - Check for bicycle initiatives on the east side of the county.
