Legislative projects are begun in response to County Council Resolutions, Planning Board initiatives, County Executive requests, and Master Plan recommendations.  The legislative division then prepares reports recommending amendments to zoning and other regulations.  Staff also tracks State and County legislation. In addition, the division presents legislation of interest to the Planning Board twice a month.

Adopted Legislation

  • Changeable Copy Signs (PDF) – Recommends amendments to the zoning regulations regarding changeable copy signs. Adopted February 21, 2008.
  • Basic Services Vote Date (PDF) – Requests the due date for Planning Board and County Council recommendations for the Basic Services Maps to be adjusted. Adopted March 20, 2008.
  • Townhouse Setbacks (PDF) – Recommends amendments to the Comprehensive Manual of Development Policies regarding Townhouse Setbacks. Adopted April 17, 2008.
