Improving the Historic Properties Inventory

Assistance is Welcomed

The contents of Baltimore County’s inventory of historic properties and districts are constantly being improved. The Office of Planning welcomes your assistance in the following ways:

  • Providing Missing Information – Please send us a copy of the inventory property report with updated or missing information, along with documentation on the source(s) of your data which could include deeds, letters, receipts, references to publications, etc.
  • Providing Missing Photographs – Please provide older photographs or drawings of any historic property, especially those not containing an image linked through the My Neighborhood: Historic map.

Photos, drawings and other original documents may be mailed to us for scanning and will promptly be returned to the sender. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the material scanned at the Planning Office by contacting Vicki Nevy at 410-887-3495 or vnevy@baltimorecountymd.gov

What to Include in Your correspondence

When sending material to the Office of Planning, please include the historic property’s MIHP Number (BA-xxxxx), and your mailing address, daytime phone number and/or e-mail address.

Where to Send Your correspondence

By US Mail or Hand Delivery:
Baltimore County Office of Planning, County Courts Building, 401 Bosley Avenue, Room 406, Towson, MD 21204, ATTN: Ms. Vicki Nevy. We will return the material by mail within five working days unless you indicate that we may keep it for the County’s permanent archives or unless you have made alternative arrangements with us.

Information can be e-mailed to planning@baltimorecountymd.gov with "Historic Properties Inventory" in the subject line. If sending digital information as an attachment, please use any of the following file formats: .doc, .txt, .rtf, .pdf, .tif, .jpg, or .bmp.
