Lower Back River Neck Charrette Steering Committee

The Lower Back River Neck (LBRN) Charrette Steering Committee is dedicated to improving the quality of the natural and built environment for the community through the development of a new coastal zoning classification. We have come to the realization that current zoning regulations in the study area do not address development in a way that respects the rural character of the peninsula.

In response, the steering committee will lead the community through a collaborative, hands-on planning process called a charrette. It will be accomplished by citizens and experts working together on the core issues of architectural compatibility, rural character, and water access.

The desired outcome is a new coastal zoning code that is tailored to the community's unique character. The new code will complement the community's effort to update its community plan.
