Randallstown
Urban Design Assistance Team (UDAT) Program

Fall 2003
In October 2003, the citizens of greater Randallstown hosted an UDAT for the purpose of studying the area and developing recommendations that offer tangible solutions to community challenges. Boundaries for the UDAT study area were based on the Community Legacy boundaries--Liberty Road corridor bounded on the north by Randallstown Elem. School, the south by Rolling Road, the east by Church Lane, and the west by Windsor Mill Road. However the Team looked beyond these boundaries and evaluated the connections to Randallstown from outlying areas, including Baltimore City.

Key issues identified by the UDAT were: Identity; Appearance; Workforce; Culture, Arts, & Entertainment; Youth & Seniors; Business; Transportation & Infrastructure; Real Estate & Property; Recreation & Open Space; and Quality of Life.  The Team was divided into three development groups, Public Space & Systems Group, Civic Center Group, and Policy Group, for the purpose of studying and evaluating the issues and then proposing alternatives or solutions.
