  • Building Code: 2012 International Building Code, adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bill 40-12,  Effective July 1, 2012
  • One and Two Family Dwelling Code: 2012 International Residential Code, adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bill 40-12, Effective July 1, 2012
  • Mechanical Code: 2012 International Mechanical Code, adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bill 40-12, Effective July 1, 2012
  • Plumbing Code: 2012 National Standard Plumbing Code, adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bill 17-13, Effective May 1, 2013; See Bill 40-12 for additional amendments.
  • Electrical Code: 2014 National Electrical Code (NEC), most recent edition year of the published code, effective September 1 of the edition year of the code; See Bill 40-12 for additional amendments.
  • Energy Code: 2012 International Energy Code, adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bill 40-12, Effective July 1, 2012

  • Life Safety Code: 2012 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 101, adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bill 63-13, Effective December 29, 2013
  • Fire Prevention Code: 2012 Edition NFPA 1, adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bill 63-13, December 29, 2013
  • Other NFPA Codes and Standards: adopted and amended by Baltimore County Bills 63-13, December 29, 2013

State of Maryland

  • Accessibility Code: COMAR 05.02.02 State of Maryland adopts “ADAAG” 2010 Edition (Americans Disability Act) and “FHAA” (Federal Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988)
  • Rehab Code: COMAR 05.16.01 Maryland Building Rehabilitation Code. 2012 International Existing Building Code (IEBC), Effective April 1, 2013

Note: It shall be the responsibility of the Design Professional to provide concise step by step compliance with Maryland Rehabilitation Code.

Flood Plain Regulations

  • Baltimore County Bill 40-12 Parts 123, 124 and 125, and Baltimore County Code 2003 Edition. Note: plumbing and electrical installations shall also comply.
