My Neighborhood is an Internet map service (IMS) application that allows the user to display and query map data. The application contains basemaps and thematic maps. My Neighborhood provides access to the County's geographic information system (GIS) databases. GIS is a tool that displays and analyzes map themes to obtain more information about a feature. My Neighborhood uses the same data contained in the County's GIS databases.
My Neighborhood assists the user to:
- determine where a feature is located
- provide more information about the feature (name, address, etc.)
- analyze relationships with other features
My Neighborhood was designed to provide citizens access to the same data used by County personnel.
My Neighborhood: Commercial Revitalization allows users to determine whether a specific property is located within the Commercial Revitalization or to search County wide for properties within a Commercial Revitalization District, and to pull owner information.
My Neighborhood: Eastern County Bicycle Plan shows information about the bicycle recommendations of the Draft Baltimore County Pedestrian and Bicycle Access Plan.
My Neighborhood: Enterprise Zone allows users to determine whether a specific property is located within the County Enterprise Zones, or to search out properties in an Enterprise Zone and to pull owner information for contacting about sale or lease of the property.
My Neighborhood: Facilities provides location and general information about facilities in the County. General information provided about a particular facility may include facility name, address, contact information and links to a site-specific Web site. For example, My Neighborhood: Facilities shows the location of fire stations, police stations, schools, libraries, and senior centers. Additional thematic maps will be added to My Neighborhood: Facilities as they are available.
My Neighborhood: Historic provides location and general information about Historic Properties, National Register Districts and County Historic. Photos of historic structures are available for approximately half the historic properties that are mapped.
My Neighborhood: Planimetric/Topographic provides users access to portions of the County’s planimetric/topographic map database, cadastral (property) database and imagery for the County. The cadastral theme includes a detailed report containing owner, location, legal description, value and transfer information.
My Neighborhood: Zoning provides location and general information about zoning designations in the County. My Neighborhood: Zoning will allow you to become familiar with the zoning and land use in your neighborhood. This tool will be expanded during the upcoming 2004 Comprehensive Zoning Map Process (CZMP) to help you keep abreast of the proposed zoning changes in your neighborhood.
