Planimetric/Topographic
The planimetric/topographic data set is a representation of natural and human-made features on the ground surface, as well as ground relief as contour lines. Topographic data defines elevation with spot elevations and contour lines interpreted at a 2-foot interval. Planimetric data defines features, such as building structures, roadways, railways, utilities, vegetation, streams, lakes, power lines, radio towers and cultural features. The planimetric data for Baltimore County is currently from 2005. The county is currently working on the 2008 county wide update for buildings, roads and hydrology. The 2008 geodatabase schema is the same as the 2005 schema, however, Baltimore County is not updating the contours at this time. The database includes 837 planimetric/topographic map tiles.
