2012 Commission Meeting Dates

Baltimore County Human Relations Commission meetings are generally held on the second Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. in Room 118 of the Historic Courthouse Building, located at 400 Washington Avenue. All scheduled Commission meetings are open to the public. Persons attending Commission meetings should enter the Historic Courthouse Building through either of the public entrances located on the Chesapeake Avenue side of the building or the Pennsylvania Avenue side of the building.

There are several events, festivals and fairs held throughout the year in which the Baltimore County Human Relations Commission is a major sponsor, co-sponsor or participant as an exhibitor. Commissioners and Staff attend many other events, conferences, seminars, programs and dinners throughout the year.

C.O.V.E. Hate Bias Summits

May 16 - The Baltimore County Human Relations Commission in conjunction with the Coalition Opposed to Violence and Extremism (C.O.V.E.), will sponsor two Hate Bias Summits in 2012. The first summit, “Hate Bias – The Crime Behind the Crime”, will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2012. It will target law enforcement officers charged with enforcing Maryland Hate Crime laws, and will feature subject matter experts from law enforcement and the judiciary. This summit will provide valuable training in incident response, investigative tools, the impact of social media, and how to build effective hate bias cases.

October - The Baltimore County Human Relations Commission will sponsor in conjunction with the Coalition Opposed to Violence and Extremism a second Hate Bias Summit this year in October 2012. The second summit, entitled "Hate Bias - Where Does it Begin Home, School or Community", will focus on the rising number of youth on youth hate bias incidents, and will target college and high administrators, campus police departments, PTA officers, student leaders and the community.
