National HIV Testing Day is a campaign coordinated by the National Association of People with AIDS (NAPWA-US). NAPWA-US is the oldest coalition of people living with HIV/AIDS in the world and the oldest U.S. national AIDS organization.
The goal of National HIV Testing Day is to end the pandemic of HIV/AIDS by reaching and encouraging millions of Americans at risk for HIV/AIDS to receive voluntary HIV counseling and testing.
An estimated 250,000 people in the United States have HIV and are not aware of it. National HIV Testing Day is an opportunity for people nationwide to learn their HIV status, and to gain knowledge to take control of their health and their lives.
