The Baltimore County Department of Health, Bureau of Behavioral Health offers education and prevention grant opportunities. Please note that the deadlines for each grant has been extended and will remain open until all grant funds have been awarded.

School Tobacco Education and Cessation

Baltimore County Public Schools or organizations within these schools may apply (PDF) for a grant up to $2,200 to conduct a tobacco education or cessation program or activity within the school setting.  Elementary, middle, and high schools are eligible to apply for different grants under this program. Funds are still available in this grant. The deadline for applications will remain open until all funds are awarded. All programs must be completed by May 31, 2014.

Community Tobacco Education

Community and faith-based organizations may apply (PDF) for a grant in the amount of $1,000 to $5,000 to conduct a tobacco education / prevention program or activity in Baltimore County.  The Department intends to disburse 11 or more grants to applicants whose proposal best meets the needs of the County.  Funds are still available in this grant. The deadline for applications will remain open until all funds are awarded. All programs must be completed by May 31, 2014. Schools are not eligible to apply for this grant. 

Alcohol and Other Drug Use Prevention

Community groups, schools, and faith-based organizations may apply (PDF)  for a grant in the amount of $500 to $1,500 to conduct evidence-based alcohol and other drug use prevention programs in Baltimore County. The Department intends to disburse five or more grants to applicants whose proposal best meets the needs of the County.  Funds are still available in this grant. The deadline for applications will remain open until all funds are awarded. All programs must be completed by May 31, 2014.
