Health Department Programs and Services

Access to Care (PDF)
Clients waiting for a slot in the Bridge Program are provided the name of the a federally qualified health center in their area to receive care.

Partner's Health Improvement Program (PartnersH.I.P.)
Full health care coverage is offered at a discounted cost for a period of 3 years through Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic Bridge Program.  To find out if you qualify for this program, call 410-887-8629.

Cancer Programs
Provides education and screening services for income and age eligible residents.  Cancer diagnosis and treatment services may also be available for individuals screened through our program.  For more information, call 410-887-3456.

Dental Services
Dental services are available for residents birth -21 years of age and 60 years or older who do not have any form of dental insurance. Cost is based on a sliding fee scale.

Family Planning Services
Counseling and a full range of family planning and birth control methods are provided.  Pregnancy testing and sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment are also available. Fees are based on ability to pay; however, no one will be turned away if they lack funds to pay.

Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program (MCHP)
Provides health insurance to pregnant women and children with low to moderate income. For more information, call 410-887-2957 or apply online with the Department of Human Resource.

Medical Assistance for Families
Provides health care to parents, children up to the age of 21, and caretaker relatives. For additional information, call 410-887-2957 or apply online with the Department of Human Resources.

Prescription Drug Card
A card that can be used at participating pharmacies to obtain prescription medications at a discounted cost.

Well Child Clinic
Provides preventive care for residents from birth through 21 years of age.

Chase Brexton Health Services (Randallstown Office)
Chase Brexton Health Services, Inc. is a growth-oriented provider of patient-centered interdisciplinary health care for our diverse communities including those individuals who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender; HIV infected and affected; and all others who face barriers accessing quality health care.  Call 410-496-6441 to speak with a financial aide specialist about receiving services.

Primary Adult Care Program (PAC)
PAC offers health services to people 19 and over who make limited amounts of money each year. Call 1-800-226-2142 for an application.

People's Community Health Centers
People’s Community Health Centers provides quality, comprehensive medical services in Baltimore, regardless of patients’ income or insurance status.  For more information, call 410-467-6040.

Mission of Mercy - Health Van
Mission of Mercy is an independent nonprofit 501 (c)(3), nonsectarian community-based organization that utilizes active and retired licensed medical professionals to provide free medical and dental services and prescription medications to the uninsured working poor, homeless and economically disadvantaged people via a mobile medical clinic. The health van is in the Reisterstown area twice a month on Tuesdays.  For more information, call 410-833-5870.

Dental Resources

Baltimore County Department of Health Dental Access and Referral Program
Find out if you are eligible for dental services through this program by calling, 410-887-2781 or 410-887-2781. 
Those who qualify can receive a discounted fee for services provided by private participating general dentists and specialists.

University of Maryland Dental School
Provides complete family dental care while helping patients prevent dental disease. Call 410-706-7101 to schedule an appointment.
