Q. What can I do about squirrels in my attic and other wildlife nuisances?
A. The toll-free Wildlife Damage Hotline can help. The hotline is operated by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture. There are many ways to make your household environment less appealing to wild intruders. DNR can share many options with you. DNR also licenses wildlife specialists who humanely remove problem wildlife and license all trapping activities in the state.
Q. May I keep a wild animal as a pet?
A. It is unlawful to keep a wild animal in Baltimore County for any purpose without a permit approved by the Animal Control Supervisor. Licensed wildlife cooperators care for injured or orphaned wild animals. Call Wildlife Rescue or contact the Department of Natural Resources for a referral.
