Q. What can I do about squirrels in my attic and other wildlife nuisances?

A.
The toll-free Wildlife Damage Hotline can help.  The hotline is operated by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture. There are many ways to make your household environment less appealing to wild intruders. DNR can share many options with you. DNR also licenses wildlife specialists who humanely remove problem wildlife and license all trapping activities in the state.

Q. May I keep a wild animal as a pet?

A.
It is unlawful to keep a wild animal in Baltimore County for any purpose without a permit approved by the Animal Control Supervisor. Licensed wildlife cooperators care for injured or orphaned wild animals. Call Wildlife Rescue or contact the Department of Natural Resources for a referral.

Q. Where do I call for rat problems ?

A. Learn more about rodent control and report rat problems by visiting the Rid Rats web section or calling 410-887-RATS.

Q. Where do I call to report a neighboring yard where the owner does not pick up after his pet?

A. Call the Environmental Health Section of the Department of Environmental Protection and Resource Management at 410-887-4065 or 410-887-4066.
