Animal Control Division - In this section learn about pet adoptions, animal licenses, laws and regulations, along with a variety of additional functions this division provides, which include:
Investigate reports of animal cruelty and neglect.
Handle nuisance complaints regarding pets running loose, leaving unwelcome deposits, and barking.
Respond to reports of injured, sick and/or vicious animals.
Pick up stray and unwanted dogs and cats, and accept those that are brought to the animal shelter.
Provide humane traps to capture loose dogs or cats.
Inspect private and commercial kennels, grooming parlors, pet shops, and other holding facilities.
Remove dead animals (excluding farm animals) from County roadways.
Operate the Baltimore County Animal Shelter. The Shelter finds new homes for more than 1,100 pets each year.

Cancer Prevention Program provides free cancer screenings for individuals who:
are age 50 and over, or younger if at high risk
have no health insurance to cover the screening
have a limited income (Income eligibility changes yearly and is based on U.S. government guidelines)

Institutional Health Care Facilities:
Prevent or reduce the occurrence and spreading of communicable diseases, food borne illnesses and physical injuries to individuals receiving services by ensuring that mandated levels of environmental health, infection control, food protection, sanitation, safety and other quality of life issues are maintained in health care facilities.
Related Health Care Facilities:
Ensure acceptable levels of disease control, sanitation, safety and service for clients residing in individual family homes, townhouses, apartments, and group homes.

Public Health Dentistry - The Dental Access Program is a joint referral program between the Baltimore County Department of Health and the Baltimore County Dental Association. They:
provide clinic services to uninsured residents who qualify.
administer a referral service for all uninsured, low-income Baltimore County residents.
make general referrals to specific locations and dental specialists.
