Public Health Emergency Preparedness
Resources for Citizens

The Office of Public Health Emergency Preparedness is a division of the Baltimore County Department of Health that is responsible for the preparedness of possible public health emergencies, including those caused by terrorism.

During a Declared Emergency

For Routine Questions 
Call 410-887-2717 (Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)

Areas of Work

  • Preparedness planning
  • Monitoring and tracking illnesses that may indicate a public health emergency situation
  • Communication between county agencies related to health emergencies
  • Developing information for the public regarding public health emergencies
  • Education and training for employees and the community

Coordination among local, state, federal and private partners is a critical component of preparedness activities.
