Missing Your Pet?

If you lost your pet in Baltimore County, email for assistance, or call Animal Services. Shelter staff are available seven days a week to assist you with locating your lost pet. Stray pets brought to Baltimore County Animal Services (BCAS) will be held at least three days, counting from the day after the pet arrives. We strongly encourage you to contact and visit the shelter promptly.

Please note that each lost pet is scanned for a microchip multiple times by our staff. Be sure to register and update the microchip information. Licensing, tagging and microchipping your pets increases the chances they will be returned should they become lost.

How Do I Redeem My Pet?

  1. Bring a valid picture ID showing you are over eighteen. ID can include: US Passport or any state-issued driver's license, learner's permit, or non-driver ID card.
  2. Bring evidence the animal is yours. Evidence can include: microchip, BCAS records, veterinarian records, adoption or breeder's paperwork.
  3. Pay all fees and violations.
