Animal Rescue

  • Days End Farm Horse Rescue - This regional horse rescue center is located in Lisbon, Maryland. The facility strives to ensure quality care and treatment of horses through rehabilitation, humane education and community outreach.

  • House Rabbit Society - House Rabbit Society is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that rescues abandoned rabbits, find them permanent homes, and assists humane societies with public education.

  • Maryland SPCA - Local humane organization offers pet behavior training and advice, pet wellness, spay services, adoption and a volunteer program.

Training for Dogs

  • Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks offers dog obedience classes at the following three locations:

  • Dog Owners' Training Club is the second oldest dog training club in the country.  Classes meet at the Pikesville Armory.

  • Oriole Dog Training Club is a non-profit dog club that was established in 1945. They offer training in obedience, tracking, fly-ball, agility and conformation.  Classes meet in Woodlawn.

  • Association of Pet Dog Trainers is a national network of professional trainers who offer advice, resources, and training referrals to dog owners.
