Station 18 serves Randallstown and the surrounding communities in Baltimore County, Maryland.
Station 18 opened on Nov. 1, 1969 to serve the Randallstown, Rockdale and Allenswood communities. Station equipment included a 750 gpm pumper, a 100' tractor-drawn ladder truck and a Jeep brush unit vehicle. The 5th battalion chief’s office also was assigned to the station.
The stat
ion cost about $306,000 and was dedicated on May 8, 1970 by Baltimore County Executive Dale Anderson and Fire Chief J. Austin Deitz.
In the fall of 1976, Ambulance 18 went in service to handle the increasing medical call volume.
Notable incidents involving Station 18 include a six-alarm fire at the Woodstock College administrative building in the late 1970s and, 1991, the infamous “Stump Dump” fire.
In 2006, Station 18 responded to 8,145 calls.
