The Baltimore County Fire-Rescue Academy (FRA) ensures the readiness of all Baltimore County first responders. Technical and customized training is provided for all career and volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel.
Course Offerings
Browse through a list of the courses offered by the Baltimore County Fire Rescue Academy. The course offerings page includes a list of classes presented for the Fall 2008 semester, as well as instructions on how to register for classes. Registration for classes must be accomplished online, using the electronic Form 4.
ALS Continuing Education
Fall 2008 ALS continuing education dates are now available on the ALS Refresher page. Registration for ALS Refresher programs can be accomplished using the Baltimore County Form 4.
EMS Recertification
Maryland EMS recertification is a personal responsibility of each and every health care provider. For further information on Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) recertification, visit our EMS Recertification site. FADO Turn In Procedure
Fire Apparatus Driver Operators are career personnel sanctioned to drive suppression equipment for the Baltimore County Fire Department. Procedures to become a FADO can be found on the FADO Turn-in page.

Additional Training Opportunities

Professional Qualifications
The professional qualifications (Pro-Qual) board validates certification credentials on an ongoing basis. Visit the online professional qualifications page for information and how to apply. Recent Baltimore County Certification Review Board results may also be viewed on the professional qualifications page.
Citizen CPR classes
Each month the Fire-Rescue Academy offers a class in cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the general public. A copy of the 2008 CPR brochure (PDF), including course details, dates and registration information is available.
