The Baltimore County Fire-Rescue Academy (FRA) ensures the readiness of all Baltimore County first responders. Technical and customized training is provided for all career and volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel.


EMS
Visit the Fire Rescue Academy's EMS site for information on EMS training and certification. 

  • New Training Opportunity: Class on Gang Violence, the prevalence in our area. To be offered October 8, 2009 from 1700-1900 at GBMC. For additional information, visit the Fire Rescue Academy's EMS page.
  • NOTE: Mandatory Maryland Protocol Update 2009 is now available on the MIEMSS website (http://miemss.org/).
  • ALS Bridge Program: The Baltimore County Fire Rescue Academy will be hosting a comprehensive EMT-B to EMT-P program, effective August 2009. Information is available on the ALS Bridge Program  page.
  • Information on the Fall 2009 ALS Continuing Education is now available. Registration is available on the online electronic Form 4.
  • NOTE: All ALS Continuing Education classes, except Sunday classes, will be held at the Loyola Graduate Center, Timonium. Sunday classes will be held at the Baltimore County Public Safety Building, Hampton Room in Towson.

Professional Qualifications
The professional qualifications (Pro-Qual) board validates certification credentials on an ongoing basis.

CPR Classes
The Fire-Rescue Academy offers several opportunities for community training, which includes classes in cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the general public.  A copy of the 2009 CPR brochure (PDF), including course details, dates and registration information is available.
