IV-Technician Recertification

Maryland IV-technician recertification is required every three years. IV-Technicians expire in either June or December, concurrently with their EMT-B recertification. IV-Technicians wishing to renew their certification must document and submit the following no later than 30 days prior to their expiration date:

          ** Baltimore County Fire Form 616, documenting a minimum of 24 IV sticks within the last three year period.

          ** Successful completion of the online IV-Technician Recertification program, available at the IV Technician Refresher site. Successful completion is documented by completion of the post-quiz, available online.

          ** Submit Form 616 and completed post-quiz, available on-line, via inter-office mail to Lt. John Cromwell at the Fire Rescue Academy.
