Like many other counties and a lot of private businesses, Baltimore County relies on part-time employees to fill a variety of important jobs. They work fewer hours, but their contributions are no less important. With this bill, 770 of our part-time employees will be eligible for paid holidays, and expanded sick leave and vacation pay. This is something that these employees deserve, and I'm very happy that we could get it done.
Our citizens depend on the services county government provides, and to meet their needs, we need the best people available. This bill will help us get and keep those employees.
I believe Baltimore County employees are the best in the State, all Baltimore County employees. I'm proud of what we've done together, and I look forward to working with you to continue our renaissance.
