Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Options

Join Baltimore County residents in protecting the environment by recycling or properly disposing of household paints and chemicals at our spring event. Event details are below. Our full service drop off facility at Eastern Landfill is open Monday through Saturday. EPS has more information about household hazardous wastes (HHW) and the importance of ensuring their proper disposal.

Spring 2015 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

Join us for our Spring 2015 Collection Event.

Sunday, April 12, 2015
9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Central Acceptance Facility
Drop-Off Drive off Warren Road
Cockeysville, Maryland 21030

The HHW Collection Event will accept the following materials:

  • Household chemicals
  • Paints
  • Pesticides
  • Medicines
  • Mercury thermometers and thermostats
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Computers and home electronics
  • Ammunition, fireworks and flares
  • Automotive fluids

No trash will be accepted at this event.

Full Time Recycling Drop-Off Centers

There are three locations in Baltimore County to drop off selected household hazardous waste materials. Their locations and accepted materials are listed below.

Central Acceptance Facility
Warren Road
Cockeysville, Maryland 21030
Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Western Acceptance Facility
3310 Transway Road
Halethorpe, Maryland 21227
Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The Central Acceptance Facility and Western Acceptance Facility accept the following:

Eastern Landfill – April through November

6259 Days Cove Road
White Marsh, Maryland 21162
Monday through Saturday 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

In addition to the materials accepted at the locations above, Eastern Landfill accepts the following:

  • Propane bottles
  • Gasoline
  • Household paints and chemicals are only accepted April through November
