The Montréal Process Criteria and Indicators is a leading international effort to use science-based criteria and indicators to measure the ecological and economic sustainability of forests at the national level. The MPCI Working Group represents the United States and 11 other nations (Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Russian Federation, and Uruguay) that collectively comprise 60 per cent of the world’s forests and 90 per cent of the temperate and boreal forests.
