The Environmental Health Section (EH) within the Department of Environmental Protection and Resource Management has regulatory responsibilities for the retail food service industry; swimming pools, spas, and bathing beaches; plans review and construction approval of food service facilities, swimming pools, and spas; recreational water sampling; complaints related to stagnant water and mosquitoes, private wells and septic systems, and other related nuisance issues; environmental assessment services, inspections of residential and commercial properties for the building permit process; investigation of open burning permit requests, household hazardous waste and other waste management issues.
