Certified Food Service Manager Program

Certified Food Service Manager - Level I is required for medium and high priority facilities.  These facilities can operate one or more days per week.  If a non -profit facility operates four or more days per week then a Certified Food Service Manager - Level I is required.

Certified Food Service Manager - Level II is required for a volunteer fire company or bona fide non-profit fraternal, civic, veterans', religious, or charitable organization that operates a high or medium priority food service facility three days or less per week.

Application Instructions

The original application must be returned to Environmental Health. 

A legible copy of the certifying organization certificate must be attached to the application.  This certificate is only valid in Baltimore County for three years from the date of the examination.  NOTE: The certifying organizations are National Restaurant Association, ServSafe; Prometric, Inc (Thomson Prometric or Experior Assessments) or National Registry of Food Safety Professionals.

The fee for a Baltimore County Certified Manager - Level I Identification Card is $25.00.  The cost of a replacement card is $15.00. Make check or money order payable to  "Baltimore County, Maryland".  Payment cannot be made by credit card.

Certified Food Manager Instructors List  (PDF) – This is a list of instructors that has been approved by the Interjurisdictional Food Certified Manager Committee.

Level II Certified Food Service Manager Training Registration Form

Use this form to register for Level II Certified Food Service Manager Training. This training is provided at no cost for individuals who will be responsible for food service activities at volunteer fire companies or bona fide non-profit fraternal, civic, veterans', religious, or charitable organizations that operate a high or medium priority food service facility three days or less per week.

Date:     October 15, 2009 (Thursday)
Place:   Saint Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church – 7834 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224
Time:    8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Recertification Training Dates

Date:     November 18, 2009 (Wednesday)
Place:   Arnolia United Methodist Church – 1776 East Joppa Road, Parkville, MD 21134
Time:    9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
