The Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Resource Management will enforce the provisions of the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act for public swimming pools and spas located in Baltimore County. This Federal legislation, adopted as part of the Maryland Public Swimming pool and Spa regulations (COMAR 10.17.01), requires that certain safety improvements to the pool recirculation system be completed by December 19, 2008 or before the 2009 seasonal opening of the facility. A general mailing has been undertaken to all county public pool permit holders which includes a cover letter and the forms designed to aid your steps toward compliance.
