In order to fulfill its mission to promote economic and workforce development, and meet industry and workforce demands over the next 10 years, DEWD commissioned the study “Jobs of the Future: Trends in Occupational Employment” to identify and assess new and emerging job trends in its employment clusters. The report provides data on industry and occupational employment for the County’s nine industry clusters, describes the County’s workforce demographic profile and provides recommendations to guide the County’s economic and workforce strategy based on the analyses conducted.
Baltimore County’s blueprint for implementing The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act signed into law July 22, 2014. This document outlines how Baltimore County will work to achieve the vision of a job-driven workforce system that helps job seekers and workers access employment, education, training and support services to succeed in the labor market, and match employers with the skilled workers they need to compete in the global economy.
Led by County Executive Kevin Kamenetz and the Sparrows Point Partnership, this 2013 report outlines redevelopment recommendations for the Sparrows Point peninsula, the former Bethlehem Steel property now owned by Tradepoint Atlantic.
The 2012 Strategic Operations Plan serves as a playbook for helping businesses connect with each other and grow; a management tool for launching new ventures and collaborative partnerships; and a springboard for redesign of the workforce delivery system to help residents improve their work skills so that they find good paying jobs.
