Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department Parade and Carnival July 20, 2009 to July 25, 2009 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., parade at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009. Bring your entire family! There will be an assortment of rides, food & games, including bingo, pit beef and pit turkey as well as a beer garden. Summer Movie Nights Bring the family along with your chairs or a blanket and come out for some warm weather fun. Tickets are $4 per person or $15 for a family 4-pack. Popcorn, snowballs, hot dogs and other refreshments are available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department. July 3, 2009 - Hook; August 1, 2009 - Monsters Inc.; September 12, 2009 - Cars Car Show at the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 10 am to 3 p.m., rain or shine. The 3rd annual car show includes a variety of makes and models including custom vehicles. A children's corner with activities, raffles, door prizes, a variety of contests and foods are also featured. Free admission; located at 5200 Southwestern Boulevard. Farmer's Market Come to the farmers market every Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. through November 25, 2009 to buy produce and items from local farms. The market is located at the Bloomsbury Community Center at 106 Bloomsbury Avenue, rain or shine. Frederick Road Fridays This summer, enjoy free live music entertainment and fun for the entire family every Friday, June 19 through September from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. outdoors near the corner of Egges Lane and Frederick Road. Many retail shops along Frederick Road will also have later business hours, restaurants will feature special offerings and Jennings will host a "Beer Garden." Free Summer Concert Series at the Lurman Woodland Theatre Listen to live music played at this outdoor community amphitheatre every weekend from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. through August! Programs include a range of music styles including rock, bluegrass, Cajun, Reggae, and country. The amphitheater is on the grounds of Catonsville High School located at the intersection of S. Rolling Road and Bloomsbury Avenue. Catonsville July 4th Celebration Enjoy a day of fun in the heart of Catonsville! The 52nd annual parade takes place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Frederick Road, held rain or shine. Arrive early at the Catonsville High School and enjoy pre-fireworks entertainment starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring a blanket, some food and relax until the fireworks begin at dark. 36th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stroll Down Frederick Road in downtown Catonsville and enjoy a great day viewing and shopping for handcrafted and painted items, replenishing with food and beverages, and listening to an assortment of live music. The festival features more than 240 vendors selling items such as paintings, wreaths, birdhouses, metal arts, hats, stained glass, and more. There are also an assortment of fun filled activities for children. These National Register Historic District homes have an English Village feel, with stucco exteriors, steeply-pitched slate roofs, front porches, nestled among mature trees. Single-family homes from the 1940's just blocks away illustrate neo-colonial, cape cod, and Tudor influences with manicured lawns and still more mature trees. Defender's Day at North Point Sunday, September 6th, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Join County Executive Jim Smith and members of the County Council as they commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the Baltimore County flag, and recognize the critical role that Baltimore County citizens played in protecting our young nation's sovereignty at the Battle of North Point on September 12, 1814. Re-enactments of the Battle of North Point echo across Patapsco Neck. Living history programs, War of 1812 displays, military music and drill demonstrations recall Dundalk's historic role in defending Baltimore and the troops at Ft. McHenry. 4th Annual Community Appreciation Day/Business Fair The Liberty Road Business Association will show their appreciation again to the community members by providing a fun day featuring entertainment, activities and food. There is also a Farmers Market held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., from June 13, 2009 through November 21, 2009.
