The Liberty Road commercial corridor in Northwest Baltimore County spans eight miles of retail, service, office and commercial activity, surrounded by stable, middle-class neighborhoods. Transportation access is easy via the Baltimore Beltway (Interstate 695, Lochearn-Randallstown exit), MTA bus, and Metro subway service from Old Court Road to Owings Mills and downtown Baltimore.
Average household incomes reach $60,000 a year in 50 distinctive communities, from Lochearn to Randallstown. With over 190,000 households within a five-mile radius of the corridor, the area also enjoys a high rate of home ownership.
The Liberty Road communities are served by a string of shopping centers built during the corridor’s explosive growth in the 1960s. Five major centers invested a total of $2,450,000 to renovate about 350,000 square feet of space from 1999-2002.
Complementing retail renovations along the Liberty Road corridor, an eight-mile, $3.8 million streetscape provides an inviting atmosphere with new sidewalks, benches, lighting, paving and landscaping. Convenience shopping is highlighted by one-of-a-kind destinations such as Symone’s Soul Café, Old World Deli, a European grocery, African American art at Framin’ Place, and the Aquarium Center, the mid-Atlantic’s largest aquarium store.
The corridor offers opportunity sites for restaurants, medical, flex office, government and institutional uses.
