Towson, Md. (March 17, 2009)—The Baltimore County Department of Economic Development is urging businesses to use every tax credit a company qualifies for. "Baltimore County government wants businesses to have every possible advantage in these challenging economic times," stated Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith. "These business tax credits were established as an incentive for companies to create new jobs, invest in our Enterprise Zones, and help improve our environment by building green." - Tax credits are available to qualifying companies that locate, expand and add jobs in Baltimore County's designated Enterprise Zones.
- Property tax credits available to owners of high performance green buildings with completed LEED platinum, gold or silver certification
- If a company plans to create more than 25 new jobs at a single Maryland location over the next two years, the company may qualify for a new State tax credit for each new job added.
These business tax credits are subject to eligibility and require an approved application.
