BMG Metals Opening Specialty Metals Distribution Center in Halethorpe

Towson, Md. (September 11, 2007) BMG Metals, Inc. of Richmond, Va. has entered into an agreement to buy the assets of Baltimore based specialty metals distributor ALN Metals, Inc. With the completion of the purchase in early October, BMG Metals will relocate ALN's equipment and inventory to a 42,000 square foot facility on Halethorpe Farms Road in southwestern Baltimore County. BMG plans to increase inventory and add processing equipment at the new location, stocking and processing aluminum, stainless steel, brass and cold finished and alloy bars at the Baltimore location.

"Halethorpe's industrial area is experiencing a boom, "stated David S. Iannucci, Executive Director of the Baltimore County Department of Economic Development. "BMG Metals joins new headquarters for Bakery Express, the Maryland Food Bank, Ferguson Enterprises, and Cowan Trucking in Baltimore County's Southwest Enterprise Zone."

BMG Metals chose Baltimore because many of its mill and depot suppliers have operations in the area. "ALN, like BMG, has built its reputation on customer service and small cut to size orders that save customers the expense of having to buy and stock full lengths. We plan to continue that philosophy, but with more trucks, more inventory and more services," said BMG president Kingsbery Gay.

BMG Metals plans to begin the Baltimore operations as early as October 2007, and expects to hire at least 10 workers within the first year.

ALN Metals, founded in 1997, supplies specialty metals throughout Maryland. Its customers include machine shops, industrial plants, steel fabricators as well as state and federal government facilities and agencies. ALN founder and president Albert L. Nalley Sr. will become branch manager for BMG's new Baltimore operations.

BMG Metals, founded in 1963 is a full line metals distributor with seven locations in Virginia and North Carolina. The new Baltimore operation will be its first location in Maryland. BMG has close to 40 million pounds of company-wide inventory in sheets, plates, bars and structural shapes.
