Owings Mills, MD (November 9, 2004) Baltimore County Executive Jim Smith joined employees and agents of Harleysville Insurance to celebrate the relocation of the firm's Chesapeake office to Owings Mills.
"Owings Mills is a prime location with a workforce skilled for finance and insurance operations," said County Executive Smith. "We're pleased that Harleysville Insurance is now part of our thriving business community."
The Chesapeake office of the Pennsylvania-based firm currently employs about 30 people at its new location on Redland Court. Harleysville has had an office in Maryland sine 1983.
"Baltimore County and Owings Mills offer a central location for serving our agents and policyholders in Delaware, Maryland and the District of Columbia," said Robert Southard, Resident Vice President of Harleysville's local office. "Our employees appreciate the convenience of such easy access to highway and Metro connections. Plus, our employees have found it helpful to have so many retail establishments and other amenities at our doorstep."
