Planning Board Public Hearing

The Baltimore County Planning Board will hold a public hearing on the Planned Unit Development (PUD) Procedures on Thursday, September 3 at 5 p.m. in the Jefferson Building, Room 104, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue in Towson. The focus of the hearing is to establish a reasonable and consistent process for the Planning Board to hear, consider, and act upon Planned Unit Developments, authorized by Section 32-4-245 (c)(1), of the Baltimore County Code, 2003. Written comments may be sent to Arnold F. 'Pat' Keller, III, Secretary to the Board, Office of Planning, 105 W. Chesapeake Ave., Suite 101, Towson, MD 21204. Copies of the proposed regulations are available at the same address, or on the web site and in the libraries. Please check the web site for the meeting agenda and any last minute schedule change.

Pumping Station in North Point Slated for Rehab

Baltimore County is investing $1.2 million to rehabilitate the Bletzer Road Sewage Pumping Station, located between 695 and Back River. Work on the station, which began in December, is expected to take about a year and be completed by January 2010.

Traffic Calming for Neighbors Avenue in Rosedale

Neighbors Avenue between Old Philadelphia Road and Philadelphia Road qualified for traffic calming measures in March and the installation of one speed hump has been set for this fall.

Water Work on North Point Boulevard

County Engineers began replacing and upgrading 5,000 feet of 80-year-old water main in North Point Boulevard at the end of June. An old 12-inch line is being replaced with a new 20-inch water main, which, say engineers, will improve fire protection in the Edgemere Peninsula. The project will cost $1.5 million and is now 30 percent complete.
