Engineers from Public Works began cleaning and relining water lines in North Dundalk near the Community College in June 2006 and expect to finish the project this fall four months ahead of schedule. The $3.6 million project will impact an area from Merritt Blvd. to German Hill Road and down to Sollers Point Road.

Delvale Avenue is scheduled to receive 1300 feet of new, 12-inch water main. Construction on the new line, expected to cost $200,000, should be finished in November.

In July Baltimore County began installing more than two miles of new water mains on Kelso, costing $4 million. The line will be constructed through Rossville, Kelso, Martin Blvd. and Transverse Avenue and the project should be finished by the spring of 2008.

Baltimore County Volunteers will hold its 11th annual Pitch-In for Progress volunteer weekend October 19, 20, and 21. Last year's event attracted thousands of participants and resulted in over 200 completed projects. This is a great opportunity for individuals, groups, and associations to create their own project. Registration may be completed online.

The Baltimore County Planning Board will host the Citizen Input Meeting for the FY 2009-2014 capital budget and program on Thursday, October 4, at 6 p.m., in Room 407 of the County Courts Building, Towson. The Capital Budget and Program is a six year plan for expenditures of capital improvements such as roads, sidewalks, storm drainage, public buildings, and parks. The plan is reviewed annually. The citizen input meeting is an opportunity for citizens, businesses, and community groups to express their concerns related to public facilities. Representatives of the following County agencies will be present to hear the comments: Aging, Community Conservation, Economic Development, Environmental Protection, Fire, Libraries, Police, Public Works, And Recreation And Parks.
