Planning Board Public Hearings

The Baltimore County Planning Board will hold public hearings on the following issues:

Pumping Station in North Point Slated for Rehab

Baltimore County is investing $1.2 million to rehabilitate the Bletzer Road Sewage Pumping Station, located between 695 and Back River. Work on the station, which began in December 2008, is expected to take about a year and be completed by January of 2010.

Traffic Calming for Neighbors Avenue in Rosedale

Neighbors Avenue between Old Philadelphia Road and Philadelphia Road qualified for traffic calming measures in March and the installation of one speed hump has been set for this fall.

Water Work on North Point Boulevard 60 Percent Complete

County Engineers began replacing and upgrading 5,000 feet of 80-year-old water main in North Point Boulevard at the end of June. An old 12-inch line is being replaced with a new 20-inch water main, which, say engineers, will improve fire protection in the Edgemere Peninsula. The project will cost $1.5 million and is now 60 percent complete.

Traffic Calming

Willow Spring Road in Dundalk has been approved for traffic calming measures. Construction of speed humps is scheduled for the fall.

Oriole Avenue Sanitary Sewer Project

Oriole Avenue and Diamond Point Road are being improved with public sewers this fall. Baltimore County's contractors began installing 3,000 feet of low-pressure sewer line and 15 grinder pumps in September in order to take residents off of septic systems which had become hygienically obsolete.  The project, which will cost $342,000, is expected to be finished by January.

St. Monica Drive Approved for Traffic Calming

Residents of St. Monica Drive, between North Point Boulevard and St Patrick Lane, recently received approval for traffic calming measures from the Department of Public Works. Traffic engineers submitted plans to the community in October and are awaiting residents' approval before construction can begin.

Permits and Development Management Hearing - Proposed Regulations for Police-Initiated Towing

Notice of Public Hearing - Regulation of Police Initiated Towing
Date/Time: 11/12/2009 2:00 p.m. - 11/12/2009 3:00 p.m.
The Director of the Department of Permits and Development Management will hold a public hearing in Towson, Maryland on proposed regulations that apply to persons applying for and maintaining a Baltimore County Police-Initiated Towing License. Written comments referencing the proposed regulations shall be mailed or delivered to Room 105, County Office Building, 111 West Chesapeake Avenue, Towson, Maryland 21204 by Thursday, November 12, 2009.

Description: A Police-Initiated Towing License replaces the Licensed Accident Towing License in accordance with Bill 67-07 enacted by the Baltimore County Council on September 4, 2007 which also directed that Police Department requests for towing be made to a County contractor who will provide the towing services requested. Copies of the proposed regulations are available for review online at the related link below or Room 105, County Office Building.
