Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee Meeting

The Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

Sewer Improvements

The Wilson Point Pumping Station will be improved and enlarged. Work officially began on December 18 and is expected to take a year to complete. Construction will cost $2,074,900.

Twin Rivers Pumping Station

The Twin Rivers Sewage Pumping Station at 13054 Harewood Road in Middle River will be extensively renovated in the next year. The project began in December last year and should be finished by January 14, 2015. The cost is $2,647,000.

Cowenton Avenue Sewers

Twenty-seven properties on Cowenton Avenue – from Panorama Drive north to 500 feet south of Joppa Road – will have access to the public sewage system starting in the spring. Construction on this health job, costing $914,055, should take about seven months to complete.

Wye Road Pumping Station

The Wye Road Sewer Pumping Station, between Hopkins Creek and Norman Creek, in Middle River is being completely overhauled. Construction began in October last year and is expected to be finished by June. The cost is $979,000.

Hawthorne II Pumping Station

Public Works plans to begin renovating the Hawthorne II Sewage Pumping Station (on Cockspur Road, Middle River) this spring. The project will take a year to complete and cost $2,377,000.

Campbell Boulevard Phase 2

Campbell Boulevard, which will connect the existing Campbell Boulevard, off Bird River Road, to the existing Mohrs Lane, off Pulaski Highway, is under construction and should be completed in 2015. This three-lane road – with sidewalks – will be almost one mile long and cost $6 million.

Bengies Sewer Pumping Station

The Bengies Sewer Pumping Station is being extensively improved. Work, costing $6.465, 280 million, began in late June last year and must be finished on November 24.

Mohrs Lane Bridge

The Mohrs Lane Bridge over the CSX Railroad, north of Pulaski Highway, was closed in 2007 because of structural deterioration. Demolition was completed by CSX in March 2011, at no cost to Baltimore County which has assumed ownership and plans to rebuild the span. A new bridge is currently being designed with construction scheduled for 2015. This bridge will be part of the future Campbell Boulevard Corridor.
