The Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) publishes a list of the environmental administrative variance requests along with their status. The requests are listed by County Council District.

Planning Board Meetings

The Baltimore County Planning Board meetings schedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, January 2 is canceled.
  • Thursday, January 16, at 4 p.m. in Room 104, Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue, in Towson.

Landmarks Preservation Commission Meeting

The Landmarks Preservation Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, January 9, at 6 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

Twin Rivers Pumping Station

The Twin Rivers Sewage Pumping Station at 13054 Harewood Road in Middle River will be extensively renovated in the next year. The project is scheduled to begin in December and be finished by November 27, 2014. The cost is $2,647,000.

Cowenton Avenue Sewers

Twenty-seven properties on Cowenton Avenue – from Panorama Drive north to 500 feet south of Joppa Road – will have access to the public sewage system within the coming year. Construction on this health job, costing $914,055 may begin in December and should take about seven months to complete.

Wye Road Pumping Station

The Wye Road Sewer Pumping Station, between Hopkins Creek and Norman Creek, in Middle River is being completely overhauled. Construction began in October and is expected to be finished by June 2014. The cost is $979,000.

Traffic Calming

Slater Avenue, between Hanf Avenue and Manorfield Road, has been approved for speed humps. Construction, which was originally scheduled for the fall, has been delayed by poor weather. And Manorfield Road, between Slater and Silverspring Road is scheduled to receive a speed hump. Installation will be scheduled according to the weather

Campbell Boulevard Phase 2

Campbell Boulevard, which will connect the existing Campbell Boulevard, off Bird River Road, to the existing Mohrs Lane, off Pulaski Highway, will be under construction this year and is to be completed in 2015. This three-lane road – with sidewalks – will be almost one mile long and cost $6 million.

Bengies Sewer Pumping Station

The Bengies Sewer Pumping Station is being extensively improved. Work, costing $6.47 million, began in late June and must be finished on November 24, 2014.

Mohrs Lane Bridge

The Mohrs Lane Bridge over the CSX Railroad, north of Pulaski Highway, was closed in 2007 because of structural deterioration. Demolition was completed by CSX in March 2011, at no cost to Baltimore County which has assumed ownership and plans to rebuild the span. A new bridge is currently being designed with construction scheduled for 2015. This bridge will be part of the future Campbell Boulevard Corridor.
