Planning Board Public Hearing

The Baltimore County Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, November 7, at 5 p.m. in Room 104, Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue, in Towson regarding: Chestnut Ridge – Out of Cycle Zoning Reclassification – Documented Site Plan.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection event is the opportunity for you to dispose of your household paints and chemicals, automotive fluids, lawn and garden chemicals, prescription medicines, fluorescent bulbs and mercury thermometers and thermostats. Also bring along your paint thinners, lighter fluid and glues or adhesives that have the potential to catch fire. Other materials such as pool chemicals and bleaches, can react violently to explode or produce toxic gases.

Sewer Rehab in the District

Public Works began relining 10,822 feet of sewer line in Rodgers Forge in June. The project, which is part of Baltimore County’s agreement with the EPA to eliminate sewer overflows, will cost $663,000. Construction is scheduled to be completed in June 2014.

Bird River Pumping Station

Baltimore County is investing $2.57 million to improve the Bird River Pumping Station. Construction began in October 2012 and should be completed on March 31, 2014.

Water Construction on York Road in Towson

Baltimore County is replacing an old and troublesome water line that runs through York Road, between the Beltway and Washington Avenue. During construction, which began May 20, the old 10-inch line will be abandoned and replaced with new 20- and 24-inch diameter pipes. Crews have mobilized and about 35 percent of the project is finished. The line, costing $3.2 million, is expected to be completed in April 2014.
