Sewer Rehab in the District

Public Works will begin relining 10,822 feet of sewer line in Rodgers Forge in June. The project, which is part of Baltimore County’s agreement with the EPA to eliminate sewer overflows, will cost $663,000.

Bird River Watershed - Community Meeting

Baltimore County Department of Environmental Protection and Sustainability (EPS) in coordination with local community groups will host a community meeting to discuss the development of a Small Watershed Action Plan (SWAP) for the Bird River watershed. Community input is part of creating the plan, which will guide restoration efforts in the watershed to improve water quality in Baltimore County’s streams and the Chesapeake Bay.

Sewers for Idlewylde

Baltimore County is installing 700 feet of relief sewers in the Idlewylde community, between York and Loch Raven, to eliminate recurring sanitary sewer overflows. The construction of new gravity lines - 15 and 16 inches in diameter - costing $275,000, will start in March and be finished in September.

Bird River Pumping Station

Baltimore County is investing $2.57 million to improve the Bird River Pumping Station. Construction began in October 2012 and should be completed on January 10, 2014 - three months later than originally anticipated.

Water Tank Renewal

Perry Hall’s elevated water tank will receive a half million dollar fix. The interior of the million-gallon tank requires the renovation of rafters and roof stiffeners, as well as a new coat of paint inside and out. The project began in January and should be completed this month. It is 90 percent complete.

Water Construction on York Road in Towson

Baltimore County is replacing an old and troublesome water line that runs through York Road, between the Beltway and Washington Avenue. During construction, which began May 20, the old 10-inch line will be abandoned and replaced with new 20- and 24-inch diameter pipes. The project, costing $3.2 million, is expected to be completed in April 2014.
