Landmarks Preservation Commission Meeting

Sewers for Idlewylde

Baltimore County is installing 700 feet of relief sewers in the Idlewylde community, between York and Loch Raven, to eliminate recurring sanitary sewer overflows. The construction of new gravity lines - 15 and 16 inches in diameter - costing $275,000, will start in March and be finished in September.

Bird River Pumping Station

Baltimore County is investing $2.57 million to improve the Bird River Pumping Station. Construction began in October 2012 and should be completed on January 10, 2014 - three months later than originally anticipated.

Water Tank Renewal

Perry Hall’s elevated water tank will receive a half million dollar fix. The interior of the million-gallon tank requires the renovation of rafters and roof stiffeners, as well as a new coat of paint inside and out. The project began in January and should be completed by May. It is 60 percent complete.

Water Construction on York Road in Towson

Baltimore County is replacing an old and troublesome water line that runs through York Road, between the Beltway and Washington Avenue. During construction, which began in late April, the old 10-inch line will be abandoned and replaced with new 20- and 24-inch diameter pipes. The project, costing $3.2 million, is expected to be completed in April 2014.

Seven Courts Drive in Perry Hall

Traffic engineers from the Department of Public Works have planned significant changes for Seven Courts Drive in front of the senior center and Seven Oaks Elementary. Part of Seven Courts will be reconfigured from four lanes to two, with parking on both sides of the street from the Perry Hall Shopping Center to the roundabout. A pedestrian refuge island is also planned. Construction is scheduled for the spring.
