Planning Board Meetings

The Baltimore County Planning Board Meetingsschedule is as follows:

  • Thursday, April 3 meeting is canceled
  • Thursday, April 17, at 4 p.m. in Room 104, Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue, in Towson.

Rural Roads Meeting

The Department of Public Works will hold its sixth annual public meeting to discuss rural roads, bridges, repaving and traffic issues.

 Wednesday, April 23, between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The meeting fulfills the County’s pledge to meet annually with residents interested in preserving the rural character of the County and to apprise them of infrastructure plans.

Design Review Panel Meeting

The Design Review Panel Meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. in Room 104 of the Jefferson Building, 105 W. Chesapeake Avenue in Towson.

Bridge Repair on Ebenezer Road

Bridge B-0112 on Ebenezer Road, which crosses White Marsh Run west of Pulaski Highway, is being repaired. Baltimore County contractors are replacing the asphalt surface and repairing deck joints. The project began at the end of March and should be finished by early May, according to Public Works engineers, adding that the estimated cost is $300,000. During construction, traffic will be reduced to one lane between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Traffic Calming in Loch Raven Village

Glen Keith Boulevard and Edgewood Road in Loch Raven Village recently qualified for traffic calming. Plans to slow traffic and improve pedestrian safety were drafted by public Works engineers who recently presented them to the community for review and approval.

Water Improvements in Carney

Utility crews will begin replacing an old water line running under Harford Road in late March or early April. A new 12-inch replacement line will be installed on Harford Road between Cub Hill Road and a point 250 feet north of Joppa Road. Construction will cost $3.8 million and should be finished by summer 2015.

Traffic Calming in Rodgers Forge

Public Works is planning a pedestrian refuge island and pedestrian ramps at Stevenson Lane and Stanmore Road, plus new sidewalks to serve the rear of Rodgers Forge Elementary. Construction will be scheduled as weather permits.

Sewer Rehab in the District

Public Works began relining 10,822 feet of sewer line in Rodgers Forge in June. The project, which is part of Baltimore County’s agreement with the EPA to eliminate sewer overflows, will cost $663,000. Construction is scheduled to be completed in June.

Bird River Pumping Station

Baltimore County is investing $2.57 million to improve the Bird River Pumping Station. Construction began in October 2012 and should be completed on July 17.

Water Construction on York Road in Towson

Baltimore County is replacing an old and troublesome water line that runs through York Road, between the Beltway and Washington Avenue. During construction – which began May 2013 – the old 10-inch line will be abandoned and replaced with new 24-inch diameter pipes. Crews have mobilized and about 80 percent of the project is already finished. Crews are now on winter shut-down and will resume work in April. The line, costing $3.2 million, is expected to be completed in June.
